A Family Day Out: Jungleland, Devoyage & Rainbow Garden

Travelling with kids in Bogor? Point the day at Sentul. Within a short radius you have a full-scale theme park, a photo-friendly "little Europe," and fields of rainbow flowers — enough to keep every age entertained without a long drive from the city.

Jungleland

The anchor is Jungleland, a large outdoor theme park with roller coasters, water rides, a carousel and gentler zones for small children. It is spread out, so wear comfortable shoes and plan around the heat — mornings and late afternoons are kinder than midday.

Entry runs roughly IDR 200,000–300,000 per person depending on the day, usually covering the rides. Check opening days in advance, as some parks operate a reduced weekday schedule.

Devoyage & Rainbow Garden

A short hop away, Devoyage recreates a compact European village of canals and pastel houses — pure photo fuel for teens and parents alike. Nearby, the Rainbow Garden at Taman Wisata Nirwana lays out banded rows of flowers that are irresistible in the morning light.

Planning the day

  • Pick one big anchor (usually Jungleland) plus one photo stop; three full attractions in a day is a stretch with young kids
  • Bring hats, sunscreen, water and a change of clothes for the water rides
  • Buy tickets online where possible to skip the queue
  • Eat before you arrive or budget for in-park prices
  • Start early to beat both heat and weekend crowds

Getting there from HEBE

Sentul is just north-east of Bogor, around 30–45 minutes from the centre and quick via the toll road. From HEBE Hostel, a chartered car for the day is the sanest option with children — you can stash bags, regroup, and escape a downpour without hunting for a ride.

If you have a second day

Sentul has grown well beyond its theme parks, so a second family day is easy to fill. Nearby you will find the breezy hilltop cafés of the Sentul highlands, short nature walks to small waterfalls, and open fields perfect for letting restless kids run.

For a change of pace from the rides, the area’s gentler spots — a lakeside lunch, a flower garden, a cool-morning stroll — balance out the adrenaline of Jungleland. Mixing one high-energy day with one slow one is the secret to travelling happily with children in this region.

Do not try to do all three properly in one day with little ones. One theme park in the morning, one flower or photo stop after lunch, home before the rain — that is the winning formula.

Home to rest

A Sentul day is joyful but full-on, so build in a soft landing. Family rooms at HEBE Hostel give everyone space to crash, and the central location means dinner and a quiet evening are never far away.
